John and I finally found our hobby farm and after many late nights of work and a whole lot of elbow juice, we were ready to begin our search for the large horse I wanted since I was a child. But when John and I met a beautiful but very large horse, we both realized that at our age something smaller would have to do. Our plans were put on the back burner until we met Lloyd Acheson late in 2002. He introduced us to the miniature horse breed and we fell in love! Our family grew by 3 but we didn't end up with pets. As it turned out, these horses were most comfortable in the Show Ring. Yes, we were blessed with quality.
In 2005, John began training and showing Jolly Rancher Tauris and prepared Sunfires Brave Queen of Hearts for her first year in the ring too. What an enjoyable Show season our first year was. We joined a super Club, met wonderful mini people, saw so many beautiful miniature horses and hit the road weekends to different Shows. Our bonus in 2005 was having a very successful Show year and two beautiful foals.
In 2006 we challenged ourselves further by showing 4 horses and all 4 finished as Canadian Top Ten winners.
Our miniature horses will always hold a very dear place in our hearts. They come first as we continue to learn from them. They are our labour of love.
2007 is our third year showing. It is our 4th year for breeding, and we are further challenging ourselves with driving. We are also very excited about the two foals from a select breeding we are expecting come Spring.
These miniature horses never fail to surprise us! Each and every one of them have their own characteristics and personality. Our heart belongs to them now and always. "HAPPY MINI TRAILS EVERYONE"
